Oaklandon

School of Environmental Studies

Oaklandon School of Environmental Studies is a community of learning where genuine and mutually respectful relationships between the adults and students are considered fundamental for intellectual development and personal growth. We strive to teach our students to be self-directed, live long learners.

Oaklandon ensures success for all students through the promotion of cooperative learning, student centered instruction, and high expectations.  We believe in a team approach to education and encourage all of our families to be active members of our learning community.

Oaklandon offers a variety of after-schools clubs and activities for students in grades one through six.  We believe it is vital for students to be involved in our school outside of the actual school day.

What is a Magnet School?

In most Indiana public school systems, students attend the school nearest their home or the one to which they are assigned. Magnet schools offer a unique area of focus and give opportunity for family choice. Each magnet school’s area of focus enhances the core curriculum.
MSD Lawrence Township created a system that allows families to attend their assigned neighborhood magnet school if that is their desire OR apply to attend another magnet school with a different area of focus.
